1. Q: “I don’t know how to join an online club?”
A: Joining a club is easy with NetHandicap.com. NetHandicap provides the online service to manage a local club so your club can maintain all of the requirements requested by the United States Golf Association. You only need to input your zip code and the NetHandicap.com service will assign you to an appropriate club in your community (if one exists).

2. Q: “I don’t want to pay large fees to join a club”
A: NetHandicap.com started because of a fact that only about 20% of all golfers track their Handicap Index of which most are members of a private club. While joining a private club certainly has its benefits, we believe that our service should be available to the 80% of the golfer population which number over 20 million golfers who do not have access to that private club. To that end, we charge a nominal annual fee to the golfer so they can obtain a USGA Handicap Index or a recreational golf handicap.

3. Q: Do I need a USGA Handicap Index?
A: Unless you plan on playing in sanctioned tournaments requiring a USGA Handicap Index, likely not. NetHandicap offers both a USGA Handicap Index as well as a Recreational Handicap. If you are interested in all the features of NetHandicap such as learning about your game trough trending, reports and tracking your handicap then the Recreational Handicap is perfectly matched for you. If you need a USGA Handicap Index because you plan on playing in sanctioned tournaments requiring such, then you are asked to join an online local club and participate in all the requirements positioned in the USGA Handicap Manual.

4. Q: “What are the rules in joining an online club?”
A: Starting on January 1, 2006, the USGA allows golfers to participate in an online club (type 3 club) where members are solicited by an Internet based service such as NetHandicap.com. The club must be established in a local community and each of the members of the club must live within a 50 mile radius of the club. In NetHandicap’s case, we have created over 50 golf clubs in the major cities of the United States. Once a club is established, a Chairman and Committee must be established in order to maintain proper governance and direction of the club. Members of the club who join online must only abide by the club and USGA rules in order to maintain their USGA Handicap Index.

5. Q: “I am already a member of a golf club. How can NetHandicap.com help?”
A: If your club is looking for a service which will unite all the golfers in a shared community with well thought out features and analytics, then they should contact NetHandicap for a demonstration. Because we are a Web based service, it should take less than 1 week to get your club online and operational with all your members’ information. 7. Q: How do I review a golfer’s USGA Handicap Index for Peer Review?
A: NetHandicap.com has been designed such that anyone can review a golfer’s handicap index easily and quickly from the home page of the service. Often golf professionals, tournament directors, general managers and others are required to review a golfer’s statistics to validate their skills prior to playing in a sanctioned tournament. To do so simply click on the top navigation tab “Peer Review” and follow the instructions.

8. Q: “I don’t seem to live within 50 miles of one of the NetHandicap.com established clubs?”
A: If you do not live within 50 miles of one of the established NetHandicap.com clubs then you have two choices; first is to maintain a Recreational Handicap which is a non-official handicap. A Recreational Handicap is an alternative handicap for tracking your game however if you do not plan on playing in tournaments, then this solution is perfect for you.
Second, alternatively you can create your own golf club with 10 of your friends or associates which will start your process in establishing a USGA club and NetHandicap.com will provide you with all the tools you need to maintain that club. Either way, our objective is to provide you with the best service in order to learn about your game by tracking it.

9. Q: “Does NetHandicap.com own the golf club?”
A: No. NetHandicap.com offers the ability to join an online golf club. Once the club is established and a Chairman and Committee are in place, NetHandicap.com is no longer involved and the club manages their own affairs to satisfy its unique membership. There are many golf clubs which have a physical location including private clubs which use NetHandicap for its members as well.
NetHandicap also partners with many organizations who offer their own golf clubs and our role is to provide the online service.

10. Q: “I am a general manager or golf professional of a green grass club and I want to offer NetHandicap to my members. Can I do that?”
A: Yes easily. Since you already have a membership and the appropriate committees, then implementation can take less than 1 week. You have no capital outlay since we are an online service. We can customize your look and feel and include your clubs logo and colors on the customized club handicap site as well. Your members will post scores from your own web site. NetHandicap.com will provide your management with all the dashboard administration tools to maintain your club and members handicaps. If you click on the “Products” tab, you will see that we even offer a Web based kiosk for your club facility and allow members to post scores after their round. The Kiosk is fully integrated into the custom handicap web site as well so golfer members can manage scores and review statistics and analytics anywhere they have access to the Web through any browser. ^TOP |
